Studio policies
How the studio works for adult students and the people who come with them.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for Thanksgiving week and over the winter holidays, and for severe weather. We text students by early afternoon when weather closes the studio, and a lesson we cancel is made up.
Leaving the program
Tell us in writing a month before your last lesson, by email or at the front desk. We will explain what happens to a term in progress.
Watching class and recitals
A friend or partner may sit in on a lesson if you ask your teacher first. Informal evenings and the spring showcase are open to guests: arrive on time, silence phones, and clap at the end of each piece.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in a pocket or a bag during a lesson. Your teacher may ask to record a passage so you can practice from it at home, and will delete it when you ask.
Questions about how we work?
Ask at your placement visit, or send us a note and we will answer in writing.
