Lesson formats
Three ways to take a lesson
Length and format are the first things that set tuition. Your teacher will suggest the right ones.
Private lessons
One student with one teacher, for 30, 45 or 60 minutes each week. Most adults begin with 30.

Shared lessons

How tuition works
We give you our figures at your placement visit. Here is what sets them and how each part works.
What sets tuition
Tuition follows the length of your lesson, whether it is private, shared or in a group, and the teacher's hours. We show our figures at the placement visit and put them in writing before you register.

Registration
A yearly registration covers your student file, your placement visit and scheduling your weekly time. It is due when you register, and we give you the figure at your placement visit.
Billing
Tuition is billed monthly, with autopay if you like. A term's lessons are scheduled for you, and we explain at your placement visit whether a monthly plan covers the whole term.
Withdrawing
Tell us in writing a month before your last lesson, by email or at the front desk. We will explain what happens to a term in progress.
Missed classes and make-ups
A lesson you miss with notice can be made up inside the same term, when your teacher has a time. A lesson your teacher cancels is made up. The group circle is not made up.
Instruments, books and other costs
Instrument rental, method books your teacher chooses, and the optional showcase evening are extras. Your teacher will tell you what you need before you buy.
